Over last couple of years I have picked up a '91 e30 318is slicktop and a '98 e36 M3/4/5
I was actually planning on selling both, as I needed to simplify. As I was getting ready to list them, Denver got hit with a major hailstorm and both cars sustained significant damage. I only had liability insurance so they are both cosmetically worked over and fixing them is likely more than they are worth.
That said. Seems like the perfect opportunity to get a track car going.
Can people with experience with both an e30 slicktop with s52 swap and a e36 m3 weigh in here and provide some insight?
My gut tells me the easier and more practical thing to do is turn the e36 into the track car and sell off the e30. My heart tells me to do the swap. But in the end I want the better track car. Help me out based on your personal experience, if you have it with both setups.
I realize this is an e30 board but lots of BMW experience that crosses over to other BMW models.
Thanks.
