I can't find any evidence of a "Shadow Web" that is deeper underground than the "deep web" other than reddit posts.

You won't, something like that is (or things like this) are likely on a private network that isn't directly accessed through what you can view. It was described as something that wasn't accessed through TOR, which means you wouldn't want to access it without jedi-like internet skills. Think a company's intranet, you can't get in by simply accessing it like a website on what we view as the internet. You can vp-in likely if it has a connection to the internet though.

So anybody got any info on why the third thread was deleted? I started to lose belief when the third one was posted, but I didn't know there was a gruesome link because I was on my phone when I saw the thread. Then when I go to check it at work, boom! It's gone. What in the actual fuck is this shit? I can't decide whether to believe the story or not...

Third post was first an unbelievable story that this guy was setup. Details were... scary to think about. Rather not repeat them? I thought it was a little too much, obviously anyone with a brain would be skeptical.

Then it was changed to just one link (onion link or something) that was repeated in the entire post more than 100 times. In that link there was a terribly gruesome picture (either him, or the story made to be him) of someone with their head detached. Chinese symbols on the picture that when translated basically stated this is what happens if you visit said place. Read the comments and you'll get the gist.

Then his account was deleted.

At the very least, this. Being someone who is interested in internet security for many years it caught my attention. I was up late coding some web stuff thanks to having caffeine in the late afternoon. I looked in the nosleep section, thought well I'm not at all tired and read the first post.

With the world and it's connectivity, it's weird being exposed to or having things like this be known to regular people. We live in comfortable bubbles, the world isn't a nice place. I'm not afraid, being desensitized because the world you don't want to know about is real is just unsettling because it's just a few clicks away in this day and age.

Let me preface this by saying even if these stories aren't real, know that they don't need to be real, because these things do happen. They are probably just scratching the surface of what you don't want to imagine. There are things in this world that most don't want to know about, and most won't ever be subject to such things thankfully.

It's exactly that kind of shit that makes me really hate humanity. It pisses me off more than anything that some people are capable of doing these kinds of things and save face.

I suppose I just care too much, but really boils my blood. The fact that humanity has been doing these things to each other throughout history and still does these things makes me beyond sick. Truth is, a frightening amount of people randomly disappear and could very easily become part of these sick acts. For what reason? Some lost bastards sick pleasure?
