    m42 crank bolt hate thread

Snapped 2 1/2" breaker bars and spit the flywheel pin out several times... bought the crank tool and hopefully things will go smoother.

    Fuck you, m42 crank bolt.

Did you try the starter method?

I didn't do the 'starter' method because I already broke two breaker bars.

Two different impact wrenches didn't cut it, either.

It took a 3/4" bar, 6ft pipe, and the crank holder tool to break it loose.

that much torque is not needed when you go to reinstall it. Do like 100lb-ft and a little dab of locktite.

makes the shit twenty times easier to remove it later if needed
