What can be taught, how it can be taught. The different type of rules and how those rules are implemented within the schools. It all takes its toll. Can say that each decade continues to get more uptight, for better or worse, with one result being that free speech isn't encouraged and critical thinking is not a factor.

Times do change and education helps facilitate change within a society. Just because you don't notice it with your kids doesn't mean it's not working out there with their friends. Brushing it off as just a generational right of passage to complain about the younger generation is being lazy. Im out!

I'm less than 36(1980 seems to be a generally accepted lower cutoff) so I guess I'm a millennial.
I guess I should start sucking on that robot dick.

I don't want to sound like a hypocrite, but aren't most of the kids/vapers/stance kids actually Gen Z? 1995-2000 seem to be the two major dates that Gen Y and Gen Z border.

If we're going to generalize... as much as I like muscle cars, they're too expensive. It seems though, that many people in that scene seem to have done well enough in life to make the right decision and show up in a late '60's Mopar. However, sometimes you get the idiot with the poorly-restored '77 Corvette craigslist special he bought trying to be cool. The guy who wants to hang out with everyone else, but just doesn't get it.

The author seems like one of those guys. For example...

Referencing Finnegan when Freiburger is clearly the brains of the operation

"Politely, they can f**k off" - excellent use of hyperbole

"Generalizations are dangerous, but acknowledging this fact somehow allows me to state them without accountability" (paraphrased for clarity)

"Nobody is entitled to an opinion unless you can back it up with facts" - proud owner of a '77 'Vette

It would be awesome if the article were about a particular occurrence the author had or if he provided a clear example of what he was talking about. Most editorials start out with a real experience and from there the author reflects on how it made him feel or a realization he had. This just sounds like a guy who owns a crappy car and got offended when someone told him they thought it was a piece of shit

            Also: vape nashe!

I'm a millinnial, build date of 03/1989, and I seriously take offense.

OP do not blame me for your lack of education. Scum exists in every generation, every scene, every orientation, and every gender.

You have made a gross generalization that you are entirely unqualified to talk about. I know this based upon my education, profession, and the tone of your post. I wanted to avoid this post entirely, but I cannot. You really need to grow up and quit seeking attention from your elders by shitting on your own generation. It, above all, does not make you cool and at the least makes you look a fool.

those are only the ones who rebel against their parents for wanting their kids to drive newer, safer BMW's (and are willing to buy it for them).

                            I own a snapback.
A hotel in Laughlin gave it to me complimentary with their name on it and I wear it occasionally when my head fits in it after haircuts.

                              That is simply not true:

Long considered an effective, and even necessary, means of socialising children, physical punishment has been revealed to be a predictor of a wide range of negative developmental outcomes. The extent of agreement in the research literature on this issue is unusual in the social sciences. Physical punishment is associated with increased child aggression, antisocial behaviour, lower intellectual achievement, poorer quality of parent–child relationships, mental health problems (such as depression), and diminished moral internalisation.

Children who are spanked frequently at age 3 are more likely to be aggressive when they’re 5, even when you account for possible confounding factors, according to a new study co-authored by Tulane University School of Public Health community health researcher Catherine Taylor.
Tulane University is a comprehensive research university in New Orleans, Louisiana. Tulanians see challenges as opportunities, and strive to improve the lives of others in our own community and around the globe.

A study reviewed more than two decades of research on the effects of spanking and found nothing positive to report, only that physical punishment leads to depression and anxiety.

probably because my parents broke many wooden spoons on my butt and palms over the course of my childhood - until about 13.

I went to Laughlin once. I promised myself I'd never go back as long as I have a choice. I happened to be there during their annual Rigatta-float-down-the river-with-all-your-cousins-day. It was the whitest of all trash thing I've ever had the horror of experiencing. I'll literally drink to forget those nightmares.

And I'm only a little gay - not full blown "I identify as a transgender woman so I can use the ladies bathroom" gay.

But I still get blowjobs so that's cool.
