    New to me E30 M3

For the past 2-3 years I have been working on different model BMW’s as a practice exercise for when I found the car I have been dreaming about since I got into BMW’s, the infamous E30 M3.

Today I was fortunate enough to find and strike a deal on a 1988 Hennarot E30 M3! Purchase price was $5600. It is far from pristine condition but I plan on putting some effort into it and turn it into a street legal autocross/track day car. I am picking it up on Monday and it’s heading straight to my mechanic. The clutch pedal goes straight to the floor so I need to get that fixed but according to the owner once that is fixed it is drivable.

The interior is completely stripped except for the front seats but I will be installing a roll cage and racing seats very soon so that saves me some time. Here is a list of current mods. This is all according to the seller but I was able to verify most of it visually when I went to look at it today. I will be changing a few things and refreshing what is already there but most of the mods I would have done myself.

    S52 motor
    dyno'd 223 rwhp and 221 rwtq
    KA Motorsport Intake
    Bigger throttle body
    Mishimoto aluminum radiator
    Stewart upgraded water pump
    Spal pusher fan 2900 cfm
    Evans waterless coolant NPG-R
    Raceland headers
    3 inch single exhaust
    new injectors- 24 LB.
    new oil change
    Eibach springs
    Bilstein shocks
    Ireland engineering rear sway bar
So this is a great start for what I am trying to do.

i bet that thing is a blast to drive.

that is a lot of power that s52 is making. do you have a tune, cams, anything other than a bbtb, intake mani and headers?
i assume you have some sort of tune with cams since you've got 24lbers.

Congrats on the car. This Henna has been beaten hard so hopefully you can save her.

I worked at the shop that did the swap on this one.

Purchase price was $5600. I had it in my original post but took it out because money had not changed hands yet. I didnt want to tempt fate. Now that I have the keys and title I dont mind sharing info...

From what I have see it is an add on for racing. I think I saw it on a DTM style car? Cant remember for sure.

                        Edit:
                        Here it is:

It has a tune but still needs to be fine tuned on a dyno. The PO did not mention cams. Lots of other stuff though....

It's a little rough but worth saving. The swap looks pretty good from what I can tell. I cant wait to get it back on the road!!!!

That's a pretty insane deal actually.

I just got an E30 M3 (237k mi.) for around $10k with a newer S14 (80k mi) but no interior, and awful paint. I think you got a pretty rad deal.
