    ix rim/tire fitment questions

Im curious if anyone had ran any 0 offset wheels on an ix, being that the fender plastics wont really roll with the fender, what are people doing for fitment? Or is it impossible? Theres a ton of supporting info f or the non ix models on 0 offset( which without proper suspensions and body work looks awful imo) , but does the flares on a facelift body help with the poke? Im on h+r blues, and billys and just want to see if anybody has done anything ix specific.

I do not know if anyone out there tried the ET rims .... If it is possible then I recommend fit and take pictures of the car then
My betting is that there is room fit on rolling

For me is coming 8x16" 20ET, maybe tyres fil be 205/45...I take some pics when i get them.
But here is some others topic, if If you've already read them

Et20 is too low for a 16x8 even with an undersized tire i think.

Et0 is simply not going to work.

it might work with out rubbing but it will be close, and it will poke quite a bit. something closer to ET27-30 would be more ideal for a 16x8. if you subtract the extra hub spacing on an ix from ET27-ET30, you end up back at about what ET20 does on a standard E30.

back to ET0 wheels on an ix - you're not going to be able to get an ix low enough even if the effective offset wasn't closer to ET-10. Even if you got shorter springs, you only have about 2" of travel with H&R sports, you would basically have no suspension.

there is a reason there's no info on it.

New update.....This is only rim without tyres
Your right, those do not fit. Only problem is that funking brake caliper bracket...
Tested whit 5mm spacer and a very small grinding the caliper mounting bracket....Not fit roll, that is the only problem, rim spoke hits the brake caliper bracket. Next i tested whit 10mm spacer, then i have to roll the arc

              Little anger management

i appreciate the feedback, i wasnt aware of the difference in the hub. would it be fair to say that you could have the backspace of the rim meeting the hub machined down 20mm resulting in a et20 rim? provided the wheel had enough meat to it to do so?

or has anybody opted for doing some bodywork such as BMP/ie flares, run into the ix skirts and cutting out the body? i personally love the look on a wide tracked car, and actually wouldnt be so oppose to doing that to maybe stuff some 16x9 even. hmm. now im just thinking aloud

I'm not really into cutting into the body. Once you cut into it, you can never put it back the way it was, and nobody else is going to want your "project car" after that (at least, not for what it was worth before).

just to run some silly wheels - IMO - it's not worth it.

Yes this i mean....I feel soo stupid right now. Of coure those wheels dosent fit, becouse that space where those wheels are will be stick is straight, not like the cantilever...
Ok, maybe tommorow i measure that point. Hub vs brake caliber braket
There will be a mad look like when i put spacers with those wheels. Well, then roll the arches

                          Here is some info+pic

8x16 et10 im presuming the hub adapters are 25mm making et-15
I dont now are those true and that is a rear wheel drive E30

i agree, i suppose the front fenders being replaceable wouldnt bother me as much as the pinch for the rear archs. but as far as anybodys future interest, i should correct that to be considered null. this vehicle is far from what i would consider a project. more of a long term investment. at the price, and the shape shes in, this is a car ive waited a long, LONG time to obtain. "shes mine, and im not letting her go!" and no thanks to the inspiration of YOURS nando. sheesh.

I have done now 5 lug swap to my -87 ix.

Hubs are from e87 116i and they have same bearing size.
Rear i needed to make 5,5mm thick "spacers" between hub and bearing.
with that mod i am able to use e36 325 rear rotors.
Im making center hubs for e36 325 front rotors so they would fit on front.
Going to run front 8,5x17 et13 with 215/40 tyre and rear 10x17 et15 245/35 tyre. exactly same size tyres.
