    SOLD -- For sale: 1991 318iS PA/DE area 19342

    CAR IS SOLD

Hey folks, due to life changes I have to sell my 318iS, which I bought from the original owner in Southern California. I'm asking $3800 FIRM.

1991 Alpine White II 318iS with 283k miles.
    • Rare dealer-installed electric glass moon roof (manufactured by American Sunroof Company).
    • Engine was rebuilt at about 225k by (now defunct) E30Motorwerks with entirely new timing components (timing case, rails, sprockets, chain, bearing, etc.). The rebuild included:
      • New oil pump and pressure relief mechanism.
      • Polished crankshaft with tear-drop chamfered oil passages.
      • Metric Mechanic 360-degree thrust bearing conversion. Coated bearings. Here's the engine build http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55835
      • Brand new 4-pintle injectors
      • Intake cam by Delta Cams.
      • Dinan big bore throttle body (BBTB).
      • Coil-on-plug (COP) ignition system conversion.
    • M40 single mass (lighter weight) flywheel with new clutch.
    • New driveshaft installed at about 235k miles.
    • E46 330i steering rack upgrade at about 280k miles. New tie rods. Also replaced steering column u-joint, and upper steering column bearing.
    • New driver's side half-shaft (rear) installed at about 250k miles.
    • New Bilstein HD dampers (stock springs) at ~230k
    • Front control arms and control arm bushings at ~230k
    • Subframe bushings and trailing arm bushing replaced at about 230k miles.
    • Both rear wheel bearings replaced at about 235k miles.
    • Swaybar upgrades: M3 rear, 325ic front (both thicker than stock 318iS bars)
    • Custom stainless steel cat-back exhaust installed at about 255k. Includes Hushpower II resonator and a Solo Performance muffler. Details here http://www.m42club.com/forum/index.php?topic=15344.0
    • Jensen HD headunit (blends in with the overall look of the instrumentation). Sirius radio unit installed in conjunction with the headunit .
    • Ellipsoid headlight upgrade with HID conversion
    • Replaced rear passenger wheel bearing at 265k
    • Replaced water pump and radiator at 270k.
    • Replaced motor mounts at 275k
    • Replaced valve cover gasket set and spark plugs at 279k

    The bad:
no A/C (doesn't hold charge for long)--all equipment still intact
Got kissed in the rear, but drives straight.

I've never seen this car in person, but as a long time M42 guy, this looks optimal for an old school E30 experience. In other words, thrash it and don't feel bad at all when someone dings it in a parking lot.

        Very GLWS OP.

man enjoys 318is for 283k miles and inevitably wears out driver seat. man finds decent conidsh same color vert seat locally in good shape and man replaces worn out drivers seat.

man now has unbroken nice seat under his tush while continuing to drive car.

                man is happy.

Exactly. The back of the seat was broken, and a decent seat turned up locally. Strangely the passenger side cabrio seat had some tears and my original seat was in better condition. Also, the cabrio seats don't fold so I wanted to be able to access my rear seat, so I kept the original one.
