Next time I see Christopher Cross in concert I will be asking him about this.

He is good for a yearly show here in Annapolis. Nice enough guy. Between sets you can get signatures, shake hands, get photos, ask about the M1.

His tape is taking premiere spot in my newly acquired cassette console.

        Such a fucking noob.

Obviously it was NOT an abortion. Stillborn maybe.

By the time it was ready and hit the streets the FIA class rules changed and it was obsolete, or at least way too heavy.
So they made the PROcar series in which top current F1 drivers raced M1's against rich privateer type guys.
It was big hit with crowds and tv coverage.

After that lots of Procar M1's were modified to race in group-5 or other series for quite some time.

Obviously not as successful as the m3 but they only made less that 500 of these ever.

Very cool but wouldn't this car been of more value unmodified much like an E30 M3?

The upgrades are all nice and tasteful and I would prefer they way the car is now vs stock but...seems unmolested are more valuable.

If we all sold our cars and pooled our cash together, maybe we'll have enough to buy it.

In todays economy where it's unreal what kind of car you can get for under 50 large on the televised auctions, I'll still be surprised if it doesn't fetch well into six figures. I remember reading about this car when Cross owned it, and it's unlikely one could source another as nice at any price. While you might be astonished at how many of us could afford it, not likely too many on here would choose to do so.

They are asking $269k for it.
IMO that may be a bit much considering the work thats been done to it.....but then again they may be banking on the whole CC thing.

Damn, I remember in the early to mid nineties when M1's were fetching like $80k.

Wow.. Not sure if it counts for anything but NADA Guide shows a high retail of roughly $100k

Thats about $75-90k more than it's actual value in today's market.
Just sold one with 26k km's on it earlier this summer.

Nope, NADA means nothing in this spectrum.
