At least she's got a good head on her shoulders and isn't in a ricer forum right now, or worse, looking for a VW beetle. This gal's got class :)

I don't live in cali so I won't troll you. Don't be afraid to travel a little to find the right car. It's worth it. Also, don't consider existing modifications as always a plus. Find a clean shell that has been unmolested. Build it how you see fit or rock it stock. You say you have friends who drive e30's.... Bring a friend/friends for a second opinion who not only drive them, but work on these cars as well. That being said, you'll have a better idea of what sauce you're dipping into before buying... and you'll definately want to know before you buy a 2.5-3.5k e30 as the condition can vary alot based on the seller's opinion of it's value.

Thank you for the great advice!
I'll definitely be bringing someone along who knows what they are doing. I'm fortunate enough to have a very skilled mechanic who works on e30s and drives them to look at all my possible candidates.

That's cool. Take your time and find a good one. Come out to the meet Sunday. There will be a variety of E30's and the owners will gladly answer any questions you may have.

HA HA i was wondering why I didn't see any "bewbss zomgz" posts above! Had me very befuddled for a minute, but now the pieces are all coming together!

and to emze: do some reading. Cruise through the technical forums and member's rides to educate yourself on what you are buying, and good luck. E30s in good shape are getting more and more expensive.

Don;t be afraid to look at the "e" models. Generally they are cleaner and were less beat on. Then you can do a "budget stroker" FTW.
