I actually have a non-turbo 5 speed '93(or is it '92) coupe that I'm selling. It can be a great parts car has a new transmission, clutch, ecu, bunch of stuff. I fixed it so I could keep the miles off my SPG but then sold it now I have this one if anyone wants it for a beater or parts.
Not to jack your thread though sorry, BTW c900 parts aren't too hard to find as far as maintenance but some things like the fuel rail cover are gone. Biggest problem for me has always been trans-leaks-rust...in that order.
Good luck with finding yours, I really do compare the driving feel to e30s and will probably own another

Yep all SPGs were manual trans only.
They all came fully loaded with no options other than metallic paint. Depending on the year, they got lower springs and stiffer shocks, higher turbo boost, etc.
I'd get that one in Temecula.
EDIT: The above SPG is missing the pass. front SPG bumper extension. It's been replaced with a standard 900 piece. Just FYI.Last edited by IronJoe; 01-20-2012, 11:11 AM.Comment

^From the looks of it the front bumper is standard 900, the fender flares were only black rubber extensions on the SPGs, but if you go airflow kit you would get what they call "Arches" that would be body color and look similar to e30 IX flares.
Since it's just an SPG(no AIRFLOW kit) you would be updating front and rear bumpers anyway so grab a set of arches as well. Someone on SAABCentral was talking about making reproductions since a real AIRFLOW is made of unobtanium
EDIT: One really big problem buying an spg is figuring out if it's the real deal which requires a vin check, pulling the driver's door panel and inspecting the paper factory tag, looking for a certain kind of APC box next to front fender...etc. blah blah. SAAB wasn't much help to me because they don't have a registry and now that they no longer exist that info is long gone I'm sureLast edited by saxyjoo; 01-20-2012, 12:48 PM.Comment

I've searched a lot of cl ads and my first Saab was purchased in MA, so I figured there might be more in that area of the country. This one is in NY and looks good. High price though.

I can send pictures if you'd like, it's nothing amazing but it is pretty decent with no rust last time I checked. Has all the typical SAAB cosmetic problems i.e. headliner sag and stitching coming out the seats but drives great, could turn into a SPG clone if you wanted or use it to fix a real one(good body parts and trannies are getting scarce for these). PM me if interestedComment

Swedes save Saab...museum
Saab’s hometown, Trollhättan's, Sweden, stepped up to the plate and purchased the assets of the Saab museum with a little help from a couple of old friends of the automaker’s.
Radio Sweden reports that aerospace and defense concern Saab AB and a foundation run by the Wallenberg family, both former owners of the automaker, chipped in with the city council to purchase the entire collection of approximately 120 cars and take over the lease of the building that houses them for just over $4 million.
Trollhättan's Municipal Board chairperson Paul Åkerlund, told Radio Sweden, "I think it means a lot, it is a part of Trollhättan's soul. It is also a big tourist attraction.”
The collection of automobiles spans the history of the automaker and includes the very first Saab prototype from 1947, known as the Ursaab, along with many concepts and production cars from the years that followed.
Saab’s assets are currently being auctioned off to the highest bidder in a liquidation proceeding brought about by the bankruptcy of the storied brand. Several last minute offers to save the company in some shape or form have surfaced in recent days, but none have yet to come to fruition.
It was announced last week that Saab Cars North America would follow its parent company and be liquidated at the end of February. At least when it enters the history book, there will still be one back home.
