are you looking for a parts car?
Needed lower control arms and I did various "upgrades" that cost me maybe a few hundred in parts because I found deals and did the work myself
LSD from a 635Csi
Perf' chip
Interior from a wrecked 91 325i
Silly trunk spoiler (already had the BBS body kit)
white faceplates (illuminated 3 different colors)
momo steering wheel
sold it with 280k miles for $2600
Friends 325ES on the right
Then I went a little crazy with the BMW emblems
I was young and had nothing better to do

Grab that one in Charlottesville, man!
I got me my '91 318i for $1100, and it runs/drives very well. Paint is old, but great interior. Makes some whining at speed from back down 'round the diff and has a leaky rack, but otherwise sweet and smooth, bought from the original owner.
You can do it - and that C'ville car looks like that kind of deal. Oh. Just saw the aoto trans...

Cabrio in my area, he's asking $2k
maybe you could talk him down a few bills
I think he has coil overs mounted
Of course you'd have to factor in the cost of travel getting it
If you're serious and can trust him to do a PayPal payment
throw me a few bucks for gas and I'll run out there to check it out
Then you could fly or bus it out there and drive it home
Though I'd wonder how much damage the "fender bender" did to the frame.
Might be worth it so save a few more bills and find something in better condition.
I think I scored a pretty good deal with my 91 Cab
just because I had the cash just at the right time it was listed
