    Fs/Ft 1990 325i 5speed, M50, 128k, crack free dash, several upgrades

    SOLD

I sold the car to another r3v member today. I just want to put this out there because if I find out the truth and if it leads back to people on this board people will suffer. I had a car lined up to buy once I sold my car and I took less than I could of so I could go buy the car I wanted. Well over the past few days I have been talking with some extremely well known people on this site and a few others about this car I was going to buy and what I could do with it. So one of these people asked to see the craigslist ad about the car. So as of last night I had a deal to buy this car. Well I saw these said popular members were posting about having parts off a car that was my exact car I was going to buy. So I took the cash this morning for my car and told the guy I would be buying it and he said it was good to go. So a few minutes ago I get an email from the guy saying that someone last night made offer he couldn't refuse. He told me who it was and its the member I was asking about my car. So they took my deal and went and undercut it. Then I find out they paid 200 less than we agreed and they are going to part the car and I was going to full restore it. I realize I sound like a whining 12 year old in a dog eats dog world but is this the type of people that are super popular members here? I was going to buy the car and then come to them for 5 grand in upgrades instead they buy the car so they can part it out and put a premium on the parts.
Im amazed considering all the great things I heard about this person. It is what it is. So now I got a bunch of money and no car. And the car I wanted was imported from Europe in 1984. Im not gonna walk down the street and find one. What a day what a day. I hope the greedy bastard gets top dollar for all those parts.

    SOLD

I have a 1990 325i (e30) for sale. Car has had a lot of time put into it. I took it on a trade towards a diesel truck. Its a great car and represents the niche very well. Came from a guy who has done multiple swaps. This car came from Charbel who is well known on the BMW boards. Swap is fully functional. Car overall is a great fun car. Its just not my thing I'm an AWD Subaru guy. Or 4 door or wagon BMW. I'm looking for trades or cash or both. I am willing to do some traveling to make the right deal happen. Car will drive anywhere.

I am located in Detroit, Mi 48221, I can meet a buyer in Pittsburgh if needed with the car.

Price is 4500 trade value or 4000 obo depending on the logistics involved for those that are serious

Track day is Sept 19th and I want an e23 to roll up in at the track.

My name is Lane and I can be reached at daballerz23@yahoo.com for initial contact. I also have a ton of pictures I can provide and I'm also trying to upload them all at once. This car is not a race car or a show car but its very well kept and nurtured by someone with a bunch of classic BMW's until the last guy got it. Charbels friend is who I got it from. He never planned on selling it but got a ticket in it for reckless driving in a parking lot doing a drift and lost his license. He planned to boost the M50 thats why he chose that swap.

93 m50b25tu swap using all the right parts. oil pan, rad, etc.
    S50 cam
motor had 126k when pulled from a rusted out e36 and was "rebuilt". About 1200 miles since put in car. now we all define "rebuilt" different some thats t belt water pump reseal etc and some thats pistons and rings and gaskets etc. I will contact po and have him define his version of "rebuilt" and also can pass on his info to any prospective buyer for technical questions of the build.

edit-- Finally got the info from Charbel through po. This was a motor from his track car. He pulled it from the rusted e36. Rebuilt it, put the m3 cam and put in the track car. The motor was then put in this e30 after hardly any use. Charbel went to Lebanon and car sat until the po got it.

Going to take a bunch of good pics and will update in next few hours.. After I post pics I want feedback on price range. I'm new to this forum just started today in order to list my car. Im on Subaru forums under username 99BKLOutbackWrx. I've never sold a vehicle but I've got a bunch of posts. I got this car towards a diesel truck. I'm not a rwd coupe guy unless the right e24. This thing is a thrill though in the right hands.

Those are not Recaro seats. They are E30 convertible sport seats. E30's didn't come with Recaro seats in the US. Look it up.

The car looks clean and has some nice upgrades. I would say you it is between 4 and 6k as long as there isn't anything majorly wrong with it. The M50 isn't a highly desirable engine it puts out about as much power as the M20, so if I were you I would not expect too much more interest over that swap. Plus you don't have A/C.

It might help to post how many miles the engine has, whether is was rebuilt fully or partially. And don't get me wrong I am not trying to shit on your thread or talk you down on price because I want the car. I don't, I have two E30's already. I am just trying to give you an idea of the value and desirability of your car. Hopefully someone else can come in and give you their two cents.

This is a for sale thread and as per rules you have to post a price or risk a moderator deleting this for sale thread.

            Good luck with your sale.

This is exactly the feedback I am looking for. Not trying to misrepresent anything. Im just basically passing on all the info from the craigslist ad guy had it listed with and the stuff he told me. I have all the info you suggested. I had a price of 7500 but thats too high but I don't want to go too low and I was waiting for some solid feedback. The guy I got it from said about 5500 he was valuing it in the trade on a truck I had. I will update the ad as you suggest. I have about 50 more pics too but it is what it is a scratch here there isn't huge deal swingers. I am on diesel forums and subaru forum so I understand the comments posted in a for sale thread are with a buyers eye and then if its a build thread it would be thats sweet you should do this or this etc. So I am grateful for the feedback. I have never owned an e30 only an e38 so this thing is a pocket rocket in comparison. Its too nice to take to Grattan and beat on it its more of a daily with pep. It pulls hard though with that 373. Im 6'3 though and I just can't do it. I need 4 doors or a e24. I just want it to go to a good home. The Detroit BMW club track day is in a month so it might get a HPDE if not gone. My driving skills have eroded driving AWD and I just bomb into corners knowing I got traction and this thing is rwd. Its in my garage until I figure it out. Im gonna just post pics as my bumps each time. Im Lane nice to meet you and thanks for constructive feedback.

Oh I know Jon. But you wont trade me the Mposter. Its the exact car I want to go to the track with! You told me no on a trade! If you want to see the mposter running with the modern cars lets make a deal.

I replaced the plugs and the valve cover gasket so I could get a look inside the engine and there was not one drop of oil inside the plug tubes like I was reading about on the DIY forums. Also the plugs only had light carbon build up and no oil in the cylinder. They were some cheap junk champion single barb plugs. It runs noticeably smoother. I used permatex on the right spots when replacing the valve cover gasket and everything is torqued to spec. Took it about 500 miles over the past 4 days and it runs perfect.
