Up for sale is my 1991 BMW 318is in desirable Alpine white with black vinyl interior and 179,800 miles on a still functional odometer. This is very much an unmolested example with no accidents, no rust and all panel numbers matching.
This 318is has a number of OEM+ upgrades including: Bilstein HD shocks, H&R OE Sport springs and Dunlop Star Spec tires mounted on stock basket weave wheels. The vacuum lines and hoses under the intake manifold are new. The engine comes with the desirable coil-on-plug conversion, DeSilva performance chip and matching 22lb injectors. A Dynomax VT muffler complements the increased performance with a sporty yet drone-free sound. The dashboard is a new factory OEM replacement that retails for $1300 and, therefore, has a perfect, as-new grain pattern.
The seats are in excellent condition and have only minor imperfections. There are no rips in the seats whatsoever. The audio system features a late model Blaupunkt head unit with Bluetooth and iPhone connectivity. To maintain the sporting character of this 318is, no weight has been added to the car beyond one compact digital amplifier – and yet the upgraded speaker components allow for a very fine sound indeed.
Recent maintenance includes new inner tie rods as well as steering coupler. Regular oil changes always performed with Castrol 0w30 European formula. This is a strong running, fine handling BMW 318is that out-scoots so many of today’s weight-soddened performance cars.
Minuses: PDR needed for a few dings, nine button display flickers, airbag light is on due to careless removal (ordered tool to fix it), clutch pedal plastic grip came off (ordered replacement).
