    FS 1989 325is 5spd $2800 OBO - Northern California

ASKING PRICE REDUCED. SEE BOTTOM OF POST.

I hate to do this, but I don't have a choice. I need the money. This car is going to the infamous "cash for clunkers" program that I know many of you hate. I hate it too, but I have no choice. I need the money. Now, I still want to see if I can save this E30 and get it to a good home. CA cash for clunkers will give me $1500, so if you wanna save this guy, I'm gonna need an offer significantly better than that. I don't wanna crush it, but I'm on some hard times and I need the money.

White 1989 325is. 5 speed manual. Odo was broken before I bought it, at 219,663 miles. I've driven about 7000 miles since then. Alpine White. Salvage title (I don't know why). Clear coat is peeling. Black plastic trim around the car is cracked in various places. Other than that, body and frame are straight.

    VIN: WBAAA130XK4204607

Car is located in Modesto, CA

    MODIFICATIONS/NON-STOCK PARTS

-SPRINGS: Springs are Ireland Engineering racing springs, SKU: e30rspring. These were on the car when I bought it. Car rides 2" lower in the front and 1.5" lower in the rear than stock. All other suspension components are stock to my knowledge.
-WHEELS: Wheels are 15" Konig Rewinds, gunmetal grey. The car was on some ridiculously massive wheels and stretched tires when I bought it. I replaced those wheels with these Konigs and new tires in the interest of safety. Wheels are only about a year old. Installed and balanced by Discount Tire in Mira Mesa, CA.
-TIRES: 205/55R15 Dunlop Direzza DZ101 Ultra High Performance Summer tires. About 75% tread left.
-SEATS: Seats are from a 1988 318i according to the previous owner. One tiny tear in the driver's seat, other than that they're in surprisingly good shape.
-HEAD UNIT: Stereo Head Unit is an aftermarket Kenwood unit. It has an Aux port and plays CDs. Don't know anything else about it, was already installed when I bought the car.

PROBLEMS THAT EVERY E30 ON THE PLANET HAS

-Dash is cracked (just like every other E30 on the planet)
-AC does not blow cold, needs R-12 recharge or conversion to R-134a (just like every other E30 on the planet)

    ACTUAL PROBLEMS

-The car failed smog on 20 June. I have no idea why. I CAN NOT afford to have it looked at to determine the reasons why it wouldn't pass smog.

-The coolant light comes on intermittently. I have no idea why. Pep Boys tried to tell me my coolant system was leaking, but my coolant levels have remained the same for the past six months or so. In any case, I have brand new, not yet installed upper and lower radiator hoses and thermostat housing. I will include this with the car.

-The engine burns oil. Burns about one quart for every 500 miles driven. I'm 99% certain that its not a leak, as it does not drip from the pan, I find no stains or puddles under the car, and the oil level does not drop after the car has been sitting for extended periods of time. The car only has a noticeable oil loss after being driven for awhile. I haven't yet been able to find the culprit. Performing wet and dry compression tests after seafoam treatment found consistent and proper compression across all six cylinders. I do not have the money or the equipment to diagnose this issue.

-The engine throttle will cut off while idling and sometimes while driving. It does this about once or twice a week. Throttle will just cut off while the car is in motion or sitting at a light. A pump of the throttle will get it to refire. I have no idea why it does this. Internet searches suggest it could be anything from a bad ECU, stuck ICV, or worn wiring. Once again, I cannot afford to have this fixed and do not possess the space or equipment to diagnose the issue myself.

    OTHER NOTES

-Oil service light is on on the dash. This is only because I don't know how to reset it. Oil was last changed about 1000 miles ago. Currently has Castrol High Mileage 10W40.
-When the oil light on the OVERHEAD (not the dash) comes on, the car is down to just over four quarts of oil and needs about one quart added. Again, the car burns through about one quart for every 500 miles driven.

    STUFF INCLUDED WITH THE CAR

-BRAND NEW upper and lower radiator hoses
    -BRAND NEW Thermostat housing
    -BRAND NEW Shifter Rebuild Kit
    -AUX Cable
-Mini USB Car cell phone charger

Asking $2000, but will consider any reasonable offer. Feel free to offer what you think it's worth. Please don't make me crush this thing. It deserves better.

Just part it out instead of cash for clunkers. If this was a clean title would be gone in a second.

He obviously, or it so appears to me, isn't gonna part it out however this shouldn't be clunkered unless the savage title is for something seriously serious.
If I wasn't on disability, I'd have a gander but I'm afraid I'd have 1500$ in my pocket. Unless the was a queue and a street auction broke out!

              GLWS dude.

                ASKING PRICE REDUCED to $2000

Not parting out, I need it gone and in one piece soon. Girlfriend's medical bills are piling up and we're trying to keep our apartment. Sorry you all think $2800 was too high, I'm in California.

EDIT: Also, new information. Potential buyer was kind enough to pay for smog for me. Car failed smog on June 20. I don't know why and I can't afford to have it looked at. Price is very flexible, just make me an offer if you think that's too high. I'll consider it.

Gosh dang I want this thing. Say I pay you for the car ahead of the time, could you hold it for a certain period of time so I could make arrangements to come snag it?
