    1987 BMW 325is - Low Miles - E30 - No Longer Available

    1987 BMW 325is - Low Miles - E30

This 1987 BMW 325is is a true time capsule!

The BMW "IS" model is the sport model, which is the trim with the most desirable options.
These options include an unmistakable front spoiler, rear decklid spoiler, BBS wheels, high bolstered sport seats, thicker sway bars, sport suspension, a 3-spoke M-tech steering wheel, and a limited slip differential (LSD)

With only 69k original miles, this bone stock and unmolested BMW looks and drives great. It is a 2-owner car but has been in the same family since new! Clean title, no accidents and all original matching VIN tags in place. The inline 6 cylinder engine pulls and sounds great while the 5 speed manual transmission shifts into every gear smoothly with fantastic clutch grab. Air conditioning blows cold. All windows, sunroof, lights and radio work as they should.

The exterior paint is beautiful and shines amazingly with barely any imperfections considering it is a 30 year old car. The interior is in extremely good shape as well. The sport seats show almost no wear on them and the dash is crack free!

    Asking $16,900

Contact me at 305-790-5197 for any questions

    List Date: 9/22/2016

Sure looks like an exceptional car. May I suggest that for the exceptional asking price you may want to provide a detailed service history. If it's been in the same family since new that should be extensive.

Thank you. The first owner was an elderly woman who then passed the car onto her son. Unfortunately, the she had misplaced the service records when they moved homes. However, I do have all the service records from my ownership which include a couple seals, gaskets, a window regulator and an A/C system overhaul which included a new compressor. A/C is ice cold!

Unless I missed it somewhere, I'd recommend getting that timing belt done asap if there are no prior records. It'd be a shame to grenade a low mileage/vin matching motor over a $200 worth of parts.

New timing belt every 4 years or 50,000 miles.
Don't ask me how I know how important the 4 years part of that equation is.
Broke one due to old age, not miles one time.

I do not have a physical record of the timing belt service. However, there is a hard-to-read timing belt service sticker under the hood that indicates it was done at 60k; not sure on the exact date though.

Even if it was only done "a few thousand miles ago" as you indicate with it being done at 60k, if it has been sitting for years then thats a belt waiting to snap. Seems like a small price to pay now when you are asking so much for a 30 year old BMW

Please do me a favor and do a quick eBay search for E30 325is. Report back when you see the two examples, 164k and 177k, that are listed for the same price as mine.

My price is more than fair, and I am even willing to negotiate if the new owner would like to get the timing belt taken care for their own piece of mind. Play nice guys.

I think you'll find that this is us being nice, primarily out of respect for the car. Fact is people can ask what they want whether on eBay or here.

Either way, without a detailed service history people here will budget not just for a timing belt but for every seal, gasket, hose and rubber bushing in the car with a cooling system and odo gears thrown in for good measure.

In that light,,offering to negotiate for what we, as enthusiasts, view as the single most critical item on the car just seems inconsistent with your asking price...so,yes..we are being VERY nice :)

People can ask any price they want most certainly. However asking a group of afficianados to "report back" aboit other cars is a bit crass. A dealer waltzing in to an enthusiast site and expecting no one to give you a hard time is unrealistic. The car looks pretty stinkin amazing and could very well be worth every penny, but you have to have documentation or a better venacular to get serious interest here.

However I wish you the best with the sale. How did you come by the car by the way? Do you specialize in BMW's?

That is understandable. I am a brand new dealer, this 325is actually one of my first cars officially offered for sale; it will be on eBay soon! I do specialize in BMW's but not limited to them. I have an E30 M3 (personal car; don't ask if I'd sell it, lol) but soon I will have a red/tan E24 M6 and a black/red E46 M3 for sale!

No problem! the car is at my warehouse so when I get a chance I'll snap a pic.

I wouldn't say its giant, but definitely worth noting

Then why DON'T you note it here and on your eBay ad??? you tout the carfax showing "no accidents" while deliberately not mentioning a large area of body damage that isn't very visible in the photos.
