1987 BMW 325e
Up for sale if my 1987 BMW E30. I simply don't spend much time driving it anymore and don't have as much interest as I used to. Hopefully it goes to another enthusiast! This is my 2nd car, so the miles don't go up much. It shows 187k on the odometer currently.
I bought it 2.5 years ago basically as it sits today, with a few things I've changed since then. I have a binder full of receipts from the previous owner and myself that is about 3" thick. Most replacement parts were purchased from Pelican. The car was originally purchased from Enthusiast Auto Group in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Highlights:
-NO rust. The previous owner had it Ziebart undercoated, twice.
-Repainted white (door jams too!) in 2010. The paint looks fantastic compared to most E30's of the same age.
-Clean title.
-Loads of new parts in the last 2 years or less (I've put less than 10,000 miles on the car since I bought it).
-2.7L "stroker" setup using the original Eta bottom end and 325i top end. It has a nice, fun, usable powerband.
Shortcomings:
-A/C was weak when I bought it but I never use AC unless it's scorching hot anyways. The compressor still kicks on and is in place, but likely needs a recharge.
-"Shadowlining" on the bumpers, door trim, and window trim is flaking and could use a redo. It looks like the surfaces weren't prepped correctly, hence the flaking.
-Needs a little tap of the gas to start, like you'd expect for a 30 year old car. It's never let me down though.
Replacement Parts (last 2 years or less):
-Brake system (booster, calipers, rotors, pads, lines, fluid, etc).
-All fluids
-Clutch
-Shifter bushings
-Plugs, wires, distributor cap, and coil
-Timing belt/water pump
-Assorted gaskets and belts
-Battery
-Sensors (coolant temp, oxygen)
Upgrades/Modifications:
-3.73 LSD
-885 rebuilt head
-IE 272 Cam
-IE Shorty Headers
-Custom catback
-19lb injectors
-SSSquid Chip for 173 DME
-Bilstein Struts/H&R Springs/Eibach Bars
-TRMotorsports C1 15x7.5
-VIS Carbon fiber hood
-Procar Rallysport Seats
-UUC DSSR Shifter w/ Hamann Knob
-Sony XPLOD radio/bluetooth receiver
-Dash cover (dash is cracked in 2 places)
-Gauges (wideband 02, oil pressure/temperature)
I'm sure there are some things I am forgetting, but this is what I can think of off the top of my head.
I'll be sad to see the car go, but it's time for someone else to enjoy. It still gets tons of compliments when I have it out and about.
