I thought I would reach out here as a hail mary to see if anybody in South Texas wants to buy before I am forced to sell to a national used car chain for a stupidly low appraisal. I have military orders which are moving me to a different part of the country on short notice, which is the reason for the hurry.
I need to sell my 1988 BMW 325is by Wednesday, September 26th. That is why this car is priced so low. It runs and drives completely fine. I have taken it on road trips longer than 500 miles without issue. The combined value of the all original basket weave wheels and crack-free dashboard make up for most of the asking price.
The following things are the only non-original items on the car - window tint, lowered suspension, and aftermarket stereo.
Mechanical
-Original engine with an estimated 200k miles (odometer stopped at 185k)
-New radiator
-New radiator hoses
-Original limited slip differential
-New exhaust
-Spare thermostat (not installed)
-New clutch 2015
-New timing belt 2015
-Slow oil leak
-Power steering pump needs new bracket
-Lowered suspension - honestly can't speak too much to this. Previous owner had it done.
Electrical and accessories
-Several things not functioning: radio/stereo/speakers, odometer (stopped at 185k miles), onboard computer, washer fluid pump, cruise control, right window, fuel gauge (low fuel light DOES work), telescoping antenna, one of the reverse lights is out.
-I have pulled the fuses for the following components in order to stop a slow parasitic battery leak: A/C and blower, radio, rear window defroster.
-Passenger door lock will sometimes not lock via central locking
Body
-Repainted white 2015
-Small dent underneath the spoiler on the trunk lid
-Some rust under driver's side and passenger's side footwells
-Tinted windows
-Original basket weave wheels
Interior
-All red leather in good-to-decent shape (excellent considering its age)
-All red carpet
-New floor mats
-Dashboard is completely clean - no cracks
-Kick panel is cracked and broken
Logistics
Like I mentioned earlier, I need to sell this car by Wednesday, September 26th. If I can't sell it to a good home by then, I will have to take it to a national used car dealership where they will not appreciate it for what it is!
Unfortunately I will not be able to deliver this car.
Thank you! Tell your South Texas friends about it!
