Because its actually double Vanos and therefore does not have the single lump in front of the head .

Does anyone happen to have an email for him? I'm interested but out of state and have to actually decide to sell/trade my M Coupe first. I'd rather just shoot emails back and forth for now.

I just called the number its 1-559-230-9046
The guy had the swap done at a shop im assuming and had no proof of the engines mileage.
He was not helpful in answering questions and was firm on the asking price.
Asked me where I was calling from and wasn't too happy after I said Michigan.

Hmmm, strange. Sounds like a closed minded non-enthusiast. Anyone who knows BMWs is open to buying/selling to folks out of state. Anyway, I can deal with people like that if its through email, but over the phone it would be insane to expect to obtain all the info I need in order to make a purchase like that.

That engine looks like an M52 with an M50 intake manifold. Definitely no M54.
