I saw the car in Bellingham before it found its new home in Walla Walla... The front seats are garbage and need to be reupholstered or replaced. The car definitely needed paint (this was pre-collision when I saw it). Euro bumps/trim were in need of a little restoration as well. However, I will attest that it ran and drove well. It was maintained at Northwest European Auto up here in Bellingham, and Ron is an excellent mechanic, who specializes in older BMWs.

Any ideas what a fair offer would be? I know that's a very loose question, but given its going to need interior work, exterior work, and probably some tinkering with the mechanicals, is this car really that valuable and collectible? Nothing like an Alpina product, but ...

Alpina may not be a better quality product, who is to say. But comparing market value, Alpina will bring in more money than Hartge all day long. They're better known and more sought after.

News to me. From what I've seen both marques carry equal prestige. If that car was closer to me the point would be moot, as it would be in my driveway.

Alpina is better known in the US for some reason, but Hartge-modified cars are a lot harder to find in general.

That car looks like it was awesome at some point. If someone with lots of money and skills snatched it and did a full restoration, the e30 gods would be pleased.

That car was parked next to my M-Tech1 as a featured car at the picnic a few years ago. I have pics. At the time mine was 4 lug with Hartge 16s on it. The owner commented that my wheels belonged on that car.

Looks like it's back on Hartge wheels?

Niiiice, I've been wondering where it got to. So Tavern Gnome sold it east? Or has it been through a few folks since the resto?
