Time for a change - Nina help me value her for sale

Ive only had for a few months but with the e30 touring waiting to start and running out of room for space I am seriously considering putting Nina up for sale instead of storing for the winter.

So tell me what you think she is worth.

Here are the key aspects, I'm sure I am forgetting a bunch of stuff... more details in her build thread located here:

    1989 325i Convertible
    I am the second owner
    54,000 miles
Cirrus Blue with Blue leather sport interior with heated seats
    Blue Manual top
Blue OE Hardtop with stand and cover
Mtech 1 front and rear valance
Mtech 1 trunk spoiler with 3rd brake light removed
    Fox Exhaust from Germany
    16" Alpinas(newly refinished)
    HR sports springs
    Bilstein Shocks
    Rear strut mounts (JC)
    New tires
Following done in the last 500 miles/45 days All NEW parts
    Timing belt
    Valve adjustment
    Bosch battery
    Radiator
    Euro smoked side repeaters
    Smoked rear tails
    Smoked front turns
    All hoses
    All belts
    All fluids
    Stainless Steel Brake lines
    New pads
    Mark D 91 octane chip
    19lb injectors
    New head bolts
    318 engine bay wire cover
Euro Trunk kit with first aid kit and triangle
    e34 OE radio
Cluster with Rings, orange needles and Alpina strip
    Black Line steering wheel
    ZHP shift knob
    Arm rest
    Viper keyless and alarm
    Alpina shift and brake boot
    e34 leather hand brake handle
    New Indigo floor mats
    Late model black windshield gasket
    Euro Check panel
Euro 13 button OBC(soon to be installed)
    Euro wipers
    Euro Grill
    Black kidney
    Euro Frenchy High Beams
    US smileys with city lights
    Smoked Laminix on US elips
    Clear Laminix on high beams
    Read Headrests
    Trunk panel
    New Roundels
    Z3 antenna

I think thats it.... Everything works, car drives awesome. There is no rust on the car, but there are a few dings and the paint is checking in a few spots. If I end up keeping her I would have her resprayed this winter. People think Im crazy, I like to think Im just picky.

I will be driving this car from New Jersey to Wisconsin next week, so if it goes up for sale, delivery to anywhere along the route can be arranged.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK SHE IS WORTH?

Please share your thoughts, I want to be realistic, Im not desperate to sell, just looking for opinions.

    Thanks

    Levent,

    #1 DO NOT SELL!!

#2 If you feel the absolute need to disregard #1 than I think the car is worth somewhere between 9-12k, seeing as it has very tasteful add-ons as well as extremely low miles with a documented history.

#3 Its a beautiful car, plus the touring will need a sibling to run around the S. Orange S-turns with, don't steal that childhood experience from her!

Looking forward to checking the car out in person later this week...see ya then!

    Matt

cool thanks, at that amount I would keep it... the wheels/tires and hardtop cost me 4k alone. I know you never get what you have into it but Id like to think I could get more.

        Other opinions?

i would say keep it. most people wouldnt pay 9500 hundred for a car that is almost 20 years old unless it was a muscle car

I understand the large number of cars thing, and I only have 3 to work with...errrr...well maybe 4 if I pick up this e23 7er that my brother's gf's father is trying to push on me...but I too am considering selling off one of my verts to make some room.

Also, just to be clear to everyone, my stated price starting at 9k was without the hardtop and wheels...I wouldn't ever sell those wheels to begin with, but with all the mods you are looking I think at my upper range of 12-13k or so, obviously you have to find the right buyer to pull that kind of money, but Roundel usually caters to those upper crust types who have the money to play with.

                Levent,

Clearly if you were to sell the car as is...I would take nothing short of $13K for it as is...for having 54K original miles, NO rust, a Hard to find HARD top (matching too), and refreshed....I would say nothing short of $13K period!...and at that price you could find the right buyer...list in Roundel and see how many bites you get. :)

It's convenient that you're in a position where you can just keep it for a while until you get what you want for it. That being said, what ^ he said x2.

If you're not a member of BMWCCA, you can still post a for sale ad in the back pages of the monthly Roundel magazine. I think if you're looking to get the price you have in mind, consider running your ad there. More well-heeled and serious BMW buyers to be found there buying and selling various cars for a premium price. Your car is a fitting example of what can be advertised there and eventually snatched up. How long that process will take is beyond me. Just get all your documentation together - helps to substantiate your estimated value.

                      Straight from the mag itself:

NON-MEMBER ADS: Please send your ads
(+ credit card info) to classifieds@bmwcca.org.
Ads are $1.50 per word, $50 per photo.

Now if you are a member, you can run two ads for free (per month I believe). I'd check out their website if you need to get any additional information: http://www.bmwcca.org. Personally, I wouldn't sell it, you have a very very nice car on your hands. But if changes in priorities are impacting the decision, well....you gotta do what ya gotta do.

                          Levent,

Just linked this to mye28 is hopes of you selling. Nina looks absolutely gorgeous. I don't think $12K would be unreasonable considering the time and money into the car, plus the low miles.

Best of luck with the sale.

it would have to be absolutely perfect to fetch over 10k. with the paint issues, i think you would be lucky to get 9k. you could always throw on a set of basketweaves and keep the wheels. in fact, you should do that anyway.
