E30 S50 Supercharged 401whp
The car started it’s life as a 1989 325i. I purchased it 3.5 years ago exclusively to do this swap. The e30 was a Texas car until I got it. It has original paint on every panel. This is one of the cleanest e30 bodies I have ever seen. Absolutely no rust, not even signs of it. The body has 1 penny size dent on the whole thing. The paint is faded but it is not peeled. I did not want to repaint the car so the new owner would not think that I was trying to hide something. It is truly a super clean e30.
The interior in 9.5 out of 10. seats, doorpanels, dash, center console, and headliner are original and near perfect. AC is 134a and very cold
The S50 out of a 1995 M3. Engine had 63k on it when I pulled out of the car. It was a driver side wreck and the engine was unhurt. Valve retainers and keepers were replaced and valve cover gasket replaced. Oil pan was removed, oil pump gear nut was safetied and oil pan gasket was replaced. I performed a leak down and it was less than 3% on all cylinders. Engine has approximately 80k on it now with the last 8k being supercharged. 4k was with a powedyne at 6 psi and the last 4k have been with the Vortech at 10.5psi. I performed another leak down last week when I decided to sell the car and all the cylinders are still 3% or better. I have always used Mobil 1. Motor is strong and quiet with no vanos rattle.
The supercharger is a Vortec VSQ2 with 4k mi since new. It has a the upgraded 8 rib crank and blower pulleys so I could run les belt tension and extend the life of the blower. It is pullyed to 10.5psi in the manifold @ 6800 rpm. The brackets are from RMS.
The after cooler is from RMS and it has a .5 psi drop @ 10psi. This is a nice piece. The heat exchanger I personally fabricated from an aluminum core and fitted to the E30 valance. I used a new Bosch constant duty recirculating pump. Same one used on the Ford Lightning.
The software was done by the master himself in his shop, Nick G at Technique Tuning. It has 36lb injectors and a Porsche HFM. I makes 401 whp. AFRs are beautifull. The car has a VDO boost gauge and a Innovate wideband. It also has a Turbonetics programmable water/alcohol injection system. This system is awesome. It has a variable duty pump that increases pressure as airflow increases thru the HFM. The car is tuned to run 93 octane with or without the water/alcohol injection. I used the alcohol injection as detonation margin on hot days but it is always on. The fule pump is and intank Walbro 255 HP.
The transmission is a ZF 5speed out of a 1998 M3. It had 43k on it when installed. Shifts perfectly. Always Redline fluid.
It has a UUC StageII aluminum flywheel with the M5 clutch. New guibo and center support on the driveshaft.
Rebuilt 2.93 LSD with 40% lockup.
New Koni Yellow adjustable shocks on all corners. E30 M3 springs. I had Eibachs on it but it was too low for me. Maybe I am getting old.
Treehouse racing control arm mounts.
Suspension Techniques swaybars with custom reinforced swaybar mounts.
Wheels are real period correct 2 piece BBS RMs 15x7s with 205-55 Kumhos in the front and 225-50 Kumhos in the rear.
Everything on this E30 was done by me except for the tuning which was done by Nick G. The price is $10,000. As you all probably know that is about half of the cost of the parts without including labor. It is an incredible vehicle for the $. It is very fast, comftable, clean, well built car and it has AC.
