The US S52 will never be as special as the S14, or the S54 that followed the S52.

Something like this could go for as low as ~2-2500. It could be worth more, but not with this presentation.

I just sold an s52 with a compression check that had 2 cylinders a bit low . Motor and trans all engine accessories and harness listed it for 2500$ sold it for 1900$

I'm in a position where I can sit on this engine until I die and I appreciate these M motors very much and understand the engineering that went into building these beasts. I will not sell it for any less than $3k. And thats as is. No compression tests etc. Not desperate.
