Love mine and it fits like a glove. I like the small cup holder to hold iphone, etc. Now to get the power plug installed so I can charge also :)Comment

if you remove the shift handle, you'll notice there are 2 screw slots right next to each other vertically on the rod. On my car, the shift knob was held into the lower screw so I simply moved it up one. Just play with it.
Edit: the allan screw is the small little hole behind the shift handle so you wont see it when you're facing the steering wheelComment

Adjusted shift handle to the top of the two holes for max height, can't get fingers between shift handle and cup holder. I also radiused the skeleton of the holder to match the radius in the bottom of the console mold so it would fit as low in the console as possible.
Wish I had one with two smaller holders that should be shorter because the small cup is not as tall.Comment

I have smaller holders. It doens't make a differencein the height. Clyne uses the same template to construct the housing I believe.
Another temp solution would b to remove the inner white rod that hangs from the shift lever itself. By doing so you remove the need to press the button down to shift the car but definitely be careful as this mean you can easily slide the lever into any gear during operationComment

Well maybe all is not lost. I have an aftermarket shift lever to replace my worn down oem one. It sits higher than the OEM shift lever too so that might help. Here's an ebay listing of it except mine is flat black with the BMW emblem on it. I'll go home and snap pics and report back.

Bmwsteven, If you compare photos of the shift lever from the side, you can see that bottom of your handle is no farther above the console plate than mine is when adjusted to the higher setting. My console must be different.
So I took the whole thing apart and cut the vertical boards of the cupholder down by about 3/8 inch and put it back together. I also routed the right and left lower sides with a 1/2inch radius so it matches the console pocket radius and thence sits lower. It fits, but I need to mount my A/F gauge in it before using it. The big cup is a bummer as it stands up about 1/4 inch which I will have to devise a fix for it. I ground the bottom casting sprews of the cup bottoms to reduce their heights.Comment
