I hate to say it, but most people here are "thrifty" and will find the parts themselves for way cheaper. The motors themselves very rarely sell for over $1600, and all the parts needed for the swap (including the tranny) can be found pretty cheap used.

You do have some nice extras, but again, most people here either A) wouldn't buy that stuff because of cost related issues, or B) would find it later down the line for cheaper.

Then add in the fact that almost nobody here would drop $4k to have the motor installed once the parts are gathered. Theres a pretty good network of people around here willing to help out.

    In any case, GLWS.

Does the price include getting my e30 towed to your shop for install?

            of course!
didn't you read, liquid gold replaces any and all loctite applications.
he will also hide three large diamonds in the motor to boost octane levels and reduce carbon output, therefore gaining HP and fixing Global warming!

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a rebuilt s50 longblock for $2150 a pretty good deal? given the rebuild was done right?

As a counter point, I paid around 10K for my turn key swap about 6-7 years ago (or so). The motor had about 1K miles at the time, and had been fully freshened/rebuilt.

I dropped the car off and about a week or so later had a fully sorted car. Bought not built; So What. I still drive it everyday, about 100,000 miles later.

10K for a fairly brand new car is not a bad price if you are not doing it yourself.

If you read his description at the bottom of page 1, he says that the only real mod included is an AA chip, and the OBDI components. I really, really doubt those things at 35hp. It probably feels quicker, but in reality that doesn't add another $2000 onto what you can pick up an s52 for..
