That's funny that the stock sized wire can't even handle the juice it puts
    out stock.

I believe the OEM alternator size for the E30 M20 is 80A. The E30 was never equipped with with a 140A alternator. Perhaps the 5,6, 7, or 8 series did.

good to know. I noticed a difference when I first swapped my cables, even with my old 80A alternator.

Send me a PayPal quote for OEM replacement cables for a 84 325E, 83 528E both M20's and a 84 745I, M30. Also the S.I. boards you rebuilt work great!

Our cables are industrially crimped and soldered. Don't waste your time with cables that are soldered only, those can fail under high current load when high heat is generated!

                What difference did you notice?

I definitely need a new ground cable. The insulation is gone on it. The poor connection to the oil pan was what caused the car to sit for 4 years due to a no start condition.

Now, how to decide between 2 and 4 guage...? :)

The 4 gauge is considered an OEM replacement. The 2 gauge, because of its larger diameter, will pull more electrical current. It will reduce strain on the alternator and starter. Customers have also reported faster engine crank times when using our 2 gauge kit.

Power for alternator and ground for engine. PM me your PayPal and I'll send you an invoice.

If I'm not mistaken, the vert engine ground is the same length as the coupe engine ground.

I meant the alternator wire. Im guessing it goes to the battery.

The alternator power runs from the alternator output to the starter input. Should be the same length for all E30's.

Do you make a cable that runs from battery to starter then as well?
