Yes, rubber/contact cement will glue to the metal just fine.

The owner of the mystery boots has been found if anyone is curious. They're from a 2001 Z3 coupe. If anyone needs Z3 boots I'll have those offered up soon.

I actually have a set of E30 shifter boot with E46 handbrake in the OEM black and Grey houndstooth. The handbrake boot comes with the frame and the shifter boot has elastic to secure it.

Otherwise I can make you a set of my nonautomotive grade black and Grey houndstooth. Shoot me a PM.
