yup. my thoughts exactly. I'm losing @ least $1k on this deal. Really don't get why it hasn't been snapped up. I suspect there aren't that many m42 people out there anymore.

I have a local offer right now, but held off on the sale when I found evidence a cracked block this past weekend (see the turbo oil leak thread on e30tech for more info).
The turbo setup was fully installed and functioning well, 7 psi of boost. I was in tuning mode but kept having oil leak issues. I'm pulling the engine now and will be swapping out the block. Engine already had new bearings and rings. If the head needs attention I'll be refreshing it too.
I still have to decide if I'm keeping the turbo setup on the car or not. I already have a full stock exhaust setup and an m42 airbox so I can go either way. If somebody offered me $3900 for the car with turbo that would certainly settle it. that would be with the block swap completed of course. car also has IE lowering springs, E36 rack, Z3 shifter setup, new brakes all around, new fuel tank, fully functional central locking, power windows etc, nice alpine... Really not looking to part things out. car has a z3 shifter on it and delrin shift link bushings. motor's stock including the injectors. Also has a stock ECU and an LC-1 wideband. was about to install an ostrich and tune. I was never planning to go beyond stage1.I BUY/SELL REFURBISHED CM5907s & CM5908s

crazy isn't it? I should have everything off later today and will post pics. It's just about everything you need for an M42 stage 1 setup, nothing fancy. It's not a low CR, custom piston, meth injected, MM stroker, go for broke setup. It's also not $3-4k.
Or maybe nobody's building FId M42s (doubtful). maybe the folks reading this forum don't have any money. I'm really surprised. very little feedback on m42club and e30tech as well. maybe they don't trust the post. I'm not going anywhere so it would be beyond stupid to try and cheat someone. so I don't really get this.
Just to give folks an idea of what's new in here and what I paid for it (feel free to look the stuff up yourselves):
- the CHRA cost $400. it has 50 miles on it.
- the wastegate actuator with extra springs was about $150. never used.
- the completely unused intercooler piping kit was $130
- the cat+muffler+custom downpipe, midpipe and catback exhaust was $900. it has about 200 miles on it.
- the G5 AFR gauge was $90. been used about an hour.
- the parker performance gauge bracket and vdo boost gauge was over $90
- the oil pan, gasket, oil return bung and labor was $120 (reuse your oil pan if you want and cut $50-60 off of that)
now add to that the cut down turbo manifold and flange, turbo housing with integral wastegate, intercooler, begi, bov, afm, extra afm cable..
if there's something in here people think is too basic for them, it's a simple matter to swap it out yourself later. you're still going to be WAY ahead financially.
