I know you recommend to go right from the battery for signal but would you see anything wrong with just using the positive power terminal on the firewall as its a much shorter run?

You may have covered it somewhere but, do you recommend against solder, or recommend any particular method of splicing that blue wire (assuming it needs more length to reach the terminal) in terms of not upsetting the signal? Any users comment? I suppose the solder's resistance is pretty negligible, but I do know not to solder O2 sensor wire for example, due to the resulting error in the reading.
