Yes. It works to replace the stock relay on all e30, e28, e24 and e23's. It's all the same part, and so this relay works the same across all 4 models of that vintage.

Just a head's up, these are all built by hand, by myself, in my spare time. Built, inspected, tested, and packaged. So I do my best to get them out as soon as I can. Just FYI! I'm sure you can understand.

What a great product. I had my car flood during the Heavy rains a couple weeks back and this thing went on the fritz, as it should when its soaked in water. After a couple days to dry out it worked like new again.

Will it work if my car doesn't have the stock dimmer relay in already? I dont even know if my car was pre wired for the relay, its a 87' 325. If it works count me in

Your '87 will most certainly have the relay.

It works on both doors, but the delay/dimming effect is triggered from the driver side(that's a function of how BMW wired the car) - it just happens that you generally don't go anywhere with out opening the driver's side door ;). If you want the passenger side to trigger the effect as well, you just need to run one wire, from one door to the other. Easy as pie.
