Thanks for the info justrack. Re: On "the list" - I mainly wanted to say that just to indicate I was interested in buying as a gauge of interest for you. It looks like you have plenty of demand without me being on the non-existent list!

Will you post the link here as well as e30tech at the same time??

    Thanks!
    Tom

I like this very much... working on a 24v swap and an oil pressure gauge would be sweet to have in the tach.

      Two questions:
      1) supplying the gauge with input for oil pressure, does that require an "oil line" to be routed into the cabin, or can the pressure sensor be mounted on the engine, and the wires routed to the device? (apologies if this has been answered)
      2) I don't have any idea of the feasibility, but is it possible to modify a tach with an 8k redline for the 24v swaps with a rev limit > 7k? (this was on the e30 m3 I believe... )

Thanks for the show of interest.

I've pretty much abandoned e30tech, last time I did a batch, every order was from r3v. So I'll only be updating this thread here on r3v.

The oil pressure gauges are still a bit under development, meaning that the only few I have done had some issues with the sensor and I'm not quite convinced of their reliability to be able to sell them. And development has pretty much stalled due to lack of time and shifting priorities.

For the 8k gauge, to keep it short, I've considered it but came to the conclusion that it's not possible for me to create a feasible, quality product. And lack of time doesn't help with this either. I'm really just doing everything I can to keep the e30 boost gauges going (albeit I'm not doing a very good job at keeping up with that alone, but I'm trying)

I will only be posting on this thread, so no new thread will be made.

As an update I'm close to having everything ready, but I have family coming in town this weekend and I just got word at work of a possible business trip soon (lasting possibly multiple weeks). So when I do start taking orders will depend on those factors, i.e. I don't want to take orders and have people ship stuff to me and then have to disappear for two weeks with their stuff stuck on my doorstep all along.

thanks justrack - I think we all completely understand being busy and know this isn't what brings home the bacon. I know I personally appreciate that you are willing to build them at all with all that goes on in your "normal life" - good to know it will be on this thread only so we don't have to monitor anything else - have a great weekend and thanks for the reply.

Yeah sorry guys. I've pretty much got everything ready, but I'm still waiting to see if I get sent on this workttrip, if I do, I'll be leaving the in the middle of this week (we usually only get a couple of days notice). I'll let you guys know when I find out. The trip would probably put me out of town for 2 weeks.

I am willing to solder components to the board myself.

I've already got the boards all soldered up, that's the easy part. It's everything else that makes up most of the work like making the gauge display, taking the gauge apart, putting it back together, and programing and calibrating/testing the board at the end.

Ok so here's the latest: I found out today I will be going on a work trip for 2 weeks (to san diego) but I won't be going until next Thursday. I'm trying to decide if I should take orders before then, since that's not really enough time for people to send stuff to me if they want to.

I'm leaning towards I will take orders, but any one who wants to send their gauge in will have to wait till I get back. But I have enough of my gauges on hand to start all the orders, so I will do that, and then I as long as I get yours before I ship, you won't be charged for the gauge. So we will have essentially traded gauges. Note that only applies for order option 1.

I doubt I will be able to get a whole lot finished before I leave on my trip, so that means how ever long it would have taken, it will now take 2 weeks (or longer if the trip gets extended) longer. So at a max I would say we are looking at a month and 2 weeks turn around. Probably shorter, assuming no unforeseen slow downs.

With all that said, I'm not quite set up to take orders yet, but probably will be within the next couple days.
