Im just blown away with this video. The car is exceptional . The story on how you built it..amazing. I wish I lived in reno. When I fix the current turbo e30 I have I want to purchase another clean e30 and add your turbo kit. Hopefully by mid January ill be shopping for my next e30. Congrats on the video!!!

      Experience on maintenance

We have all read horror stories on turbos...the latest on the for sale section but I thought I would post here instead.

      You've done lots of research

      are all turbo e30 temperamental?

does it require you to be a wrench?

sounds to me like too much boost is the problem

but clearly the engineering is lots more involved.

Can you recommend a site that talks about the pros and cons.

^Turbo E30 can be very reliable, just need to have a good tune! you need to have a decent amount of mechanical skills to do a turbo build. If you can swap out a set of headers you should be able to install a turbo kit.

Seems like a pretty comprehensive kit - especially for the price.

So how much of a kickback is Matt Farah getting per kit sold? ;-)

Would love to do this on the IX. Even low boost would be awesome!

If I wasn't already boosted, I would seriously consider this kit from Kameron. Solid dude.

Still looking forward to that "tuned by KAMotors" sticker. :)

                        ARP's

If your car is already well maintained I'd say just do head studs and a fresh goetze head gasket, timing belt and your good.

If not I'd do a timing belt/water pump, intake manifold gaskets, VC gasket etc. as well.

                            Thanks for the above.

Is the stock HG able to hold 15psi?

stock head gasket w/ head studs is good for a lot more than 15psi. I've been running it up to 20-23psi on occasion.

I've pretty well done all that, along with a full rebuild. I really want one of these kits but I'm afraid my bonus is already spent for this year. Any chance you will keep these going through next year?

I enjoyed a the few minutes of that video I watched, always nice to put a driver to a car. Your car is amazing, nice work!
