Probably a dumb question, but can you use this with a stock motor?

Yep. I do on my e30. And I've sold a lot to guys with non-turbo cars. If you've put some coin into a motor swap, you might want to keep an eye on your "investment".
On my car I run two O2 sensors. A narrowband that the is a stock sensor and feeds the stock ECU. I paid a exhaust shop $25 to weld a second bung in for a wide-band sensor, and running a Innovate controller. Now I can always keeps tabs on AFR. Very handy.Last edited by george graves; 05-31-2015, 08:29 PM.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

Your gauge shipped. Tracking was sent via paypal. It'll be in your mailbox on the 6th.
The stock ECU uses a stock narrowband sensor. If you want to keep your stock ECU, but also have the ability to see your real air-fuel-ratio, for $150 you can buy a wideband sensor, controller, wiring harness, and bung on ebay(Innovate LC-2 - it's a great deal at $150 for everything). Then just have an exhaust shop add the bung to your exhaust (they will usually charge like $25 to do it.) And that's about it.
I run this set up on my car, and have sold several units to people that are running a stock ECU, but want to keep an eye on their motor.Last edited by george graves; 07-04-2015, 02:56 AM.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

So would you not want to wire up the LC-2 to the stock O2 sensor? I guess this probably is where you would need aftermarket ecu?Comment

No. You can feed the stock ecu with the second output of the LC-1, but it's just as easy to add a second bung to the exhaust, and avoid any issues by keeping the two systems separate. It keeps the stock ECU happy, and just works with out complicating things.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment
