I would buy a kit if it came with E36 window switches.

BTW.. the Thermo sensor is a good idea only if you can accomodate it with a rain sensor so it knows to roll the window back up if it starts to rain.
Yeah, you can swap the one-touch e36 ones into the e30, but it will be a lot more complicated without the chip we're designing. We will, however, make the regular e36 (and e30) switches have full one-touch opperation.

Again, I'm unsure whether we'll include e36 switches with the kit.

Do you live in a place where it frequently rains when the temp inside your car is above 100F? If so, I would suggest not splurging for the thermalsensor option.

im in, but i think the thermal sensor is over kill. It should be really easy to program something like this onto a PIC or maybe even a PLA. Hmm... maybe i'll do it myself. I should take more than an afternoon.

Ken, did you ever get the E36 diagram?

Do the "one touch" switches have a seperate wire coming out to activate?

A better added feature rather than the thermosensor would be the "hold the key in the lock position to roll all windows up" option that the E36 has.

I would splurge on that one.

I would be interested in the modules for the E36 switches, but mine aren't one-touch, they just have a single-click trigger. Would there be an application for this?

Agreed. I want the switches and would pay for them too IF you guys could set it up.

I'd be down for these, via my e36 switches. I also really want to find one of those chimes that reminds you to turn off your lights, Im tired of the gf killing her battery. :)

Curt, it is pretty easy to wire a relay to shut off the lights all together when you shut off the key.

$5 relay is all parts needed.

We could easily make one for regular e30, e36, or e36 one-touch switches. The regular e30 and e36 switches would just go automatically up/down when the button is depressed for less than a certain amount of time (like half a second or so). We just need wiring diagrams of the switches to figure out which wires are for which functions. I suppose we would probably need one of each switch too, in order to determine voltage output.

How many different e36 switches are there? Like the different colored bases?

I'd consider including switches with them, but I'm not sure I want to go through the effort of trying to locate a bunch of them.
