Fully refurbished OEM BMW Alpine CM5907 and CM5908 slider radios, Trunk Amps

Just spent 5+ hours last week on a CM5908 radio refurb. Customer tried a DIY repair on the internal amplifier board, by replacing some of the capacitors using some a soldering iron and maybe some solder wick. Honestly the work didn't look bad, but the radio was definitely not working properly. Turns out there were 5 circuit board issues to deal with, on top of the usual list of things that are part of my electronics refurb service.

From my experience DIY efforts work maybe 3 times out of 10, and that's usually with a pristine part, which is absurdly easy to damage during the repair. Maybe 6-7 of every 10 of these 33+ year old radios I see have some sort of circuit board damage caused by internal shorting, and sometimes that damage is not repairable. Clearly in situations like these, swapping some caps out isn't enough. You also miss alot of additional work that should be done on the main board of the radio.
