Wrinkle finish painted M30 valve cover... Very nice, Great success!

I was going to use this on my Euro 6, but I think I may go silver instead... This is a nice B32 or B34 valve cover with no dings or rub marks where the air box sits. It was prepped by roughing up the surface, cleaning thoroughly with acetone, and then primed with a self etching primer since aluminum doesn't like to hold paint. This is the third one I have done like this, and the other two have held up beautifully so this one should do the same. I'm asking $65 + shipping.

Here are a couple close-ups of the texture:

Dude, that thing looks AWESOME. If no one else picks this up in a few days, I'll probably take it. Good luck with the sale.

I have an eta cover that I'd be willing to do just like this if anyone is interested.

Are the valve covers on different M30s not interchangable ?

They are for the most part. Early L-Jet M30s have a different cover, L-Jet covers have a different location for the bolt at the front of the motor, so if you try to use one on a B34 or B35 the front won't be bolted down. The B35 cover does not have the studs for the intake manifold supports, and the design of the ribs and whatnot is different.

Beautiful work Man!!! I bought one like this and I have not installed it yet, it is so nice it's hanging on my basement wall as art. Do you do intake runners like that? That is what I was thinking of doing as winter project.

Yeah, I have a manifold that I painted a while back for the Euro 6 project, and I may end up selling it as well. It's not wrinkle finish, just semi gloss black and it looks pretty good. I'd paint it wrinkle finish if anyone wants to buy it that way.

I'll post a picture in a few, gotta go take one
