As far as I know the manual rack and the power rack are the same ratio. I think the specs are 4 to 1 for the power and 4.1 to 1 for the manual, so they are going to turn at the same speed. I know that the manual rack is easier to turn the car with at slow speeds than using a power rack that isn't being powered by taking the belt off. I don't know what is different inside, but the car turns better. On the other had if you parallel park your car all the time it is going to take more effort with the manual rack.
The manual rack is going to give you all the feedback from the road and I like that. I also like that it will take probably 20 pound off of the cars weight and remove a bunch of stuff from along side the engine. My crank pulley isn't having to turn the power steering pump any longer and that's cool too. I have a second manual rack for one of my cars.Comment

Ahh, I see. I'm still new to these cars. So getting a manual steering rack would make it so I wouldn't be running power steering anymore. This is my daily driver and I need to upgrade the front suspension.
I'm also getting a real bad squealing when I turn the car all the way one way or the other and it's either the PS pump or the rack.
This thing looks clean and simple but I'm not sure I want to run without PS. I'm gonna do some research and get back to you. This does sound like a solid deal, though. Thanks for the input!

I'll be gone for a couple of days as I'm spending as much time away from Sacramento as I can until the smoke from all the wild fires is gone.

To the first part, the squeeking is most likely either very low fluid, or the belt needs to be replaced.I'm also getting a real bad squealing when I turn the car all the way one way or the other and it's either the PS pump or the rack.

Second, driving a daily without power steering isn't bad at all. I drive mine without it and its fine. The only hard parts are the slow speed parking or turning. I have to pull into a small quarters covered parking spot and at times its a bitch. But you will actually like no power steering better on the freeway or highways. To me I feel more in control and the steering feels more precise.
Just my two cents.

I've got a manual rack on my car that came with it stock, and parking, etc. really sucks. That said, turning at fast speeds is lots of fun!
If this was my DD, I think I'd prefer a power rack on it, which luckily I already have laying around if that ever becomes the case!
