Got mine in the mail yesterday. Thanks for the quick delivery! I have to say...This is one great looking intake! After a few modifications, It's installed and running like a champ (at least I think so. I have't had a chance to actually do a full test run yet). I do have a few questions...
The fit was rather tight. Is this product supposed to float in the engine bay? Or is it going to touch a few things? I scratched it a little on the bottom side due to the mounting prongs to the ABS brake pump. Will you need to make adjustments to the actual MAF to accept this different filter/housing?? I think you said no but I'm just making sure I don't do something wrong. I'm a new owner to a 91' E30 and I'm not very experienced.
Thanks a bunch for your time and, again, I'm super happy with the product and the pricing.

BMW E30 VER. 5 Carbon Fiber cold air intakes
Got mine installed months ago, but on a blown motor, so it was moot
HOWEVER, I did just install a new motor, and now that I can actually drive the thing, I gotta say; I don't think it did much for my performance figures, but the induction noise, engine bay clean-up, and just general badassery is pretty sweet.
I also grabbed an early eta air-intake boot (84-86) instead of the flex tubing and slapped it on the front so the boot sits pretty much right behind the front grille. Had to cut a lot of the inside of the boot and boil it in water to get it to fit over though, but it works
I love itLast edited by JinormusJ; 03-23-2014, 01:40 AM.Comment

So, I've got an early model ('87) with the old rectangular AFM sensors, and I'd like to stick with the OE AFM. How do you recommend that I adapt to the round MAF port?
If you've got a line on those, I'd be down to buy one, as well as a physical AFM intake adapter and maybe a few stickers. Thanks!
* Sorry if this question's already been answered. I tried to look through the thread, but I'm not sifting through 45 pages of "So stoked on my new CAI kit, thanks dude!" to not find an answer...
