Well, you guys wanted an update when we knew more, so here it is.

The deal isn't happening. Someone else offered the seller $4k for the lot, after ZM had already made deal and made a deposit, and rented a truck. Pretty lame on the part of the seller after a deal had been established, but like I said earlier in the thread, money talks. We don't know who it was, or if it was even someone from R3V or not, but at this point, we won't be offering the seats as packages.

I WOULD however like to offer that if it is someone that plans to sell them to the E30 community, Andrew and I are still more than willing to build the same sets of E30 slider adapters for anyone that manages to pick up a set, or for any other Recaro seats.

Wow. Sorry to hear that. That's pretty lame from the seller to establish a deal, and then jizz on your face.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

UPDATE. First off sorry you didnt get the seats janderson. But on another note. I spoke to my friend and am looking in to who did get the seats. It was some guy from a local Porsche custom interrior shop. I am in the works to get his contact info so you the members may still be able to get a set of the seats. I will be talking to my friend again when he gets confirmation from the buyer that he dose want me to give out his info. Thanks again fo the intrest and sorry things didnt work out for some of you.

I was looking forward to this...

anyone have any more details on the actual seats or the ad? Maybe we can find out where they went by search for new threads on other boards or the bay?

            God dammmit.

Oh, BTW, apologies on my post earlier, I mistook "set" for "seat" and couldn't look at the original CL post as it was deleted.

Yeah, I posted that before your post popped up, so I didn't get to see what you said before I typed up my piece. It's all good either way, you just inspired me to search for seats via craigslist. I already came across a couple options for myself. Not sure which route to go now though.

Wow....what a twist of events. Do you really think a guy that upholsters Porsches will give a break to the e30 boys, come on. Everyone that wanted a seat should go over your friend's house and beat the shit out of him just for not going through with the deal he struck with ZM specially after he had received a deposit.

Eh, it's not your fault, but I appreciate it. Shit just doesn't work out sometimes, I'm mostly just bummed out that we won't be able to put these seat packages together. I bet they would have flown out the door at the speed of sound.

Just so there is no misunderstanings... I didn't put down a deposit. I offered he said it was not necessary. We had a deal. I made rental arrangements and got storage space.

He also offered me an opportunity to counter offer after he got an offer of 4k. I told him I was under the impression we had a deal at 2700, at 4000 I didn't feel it would have made sense for the r3v guys. He had also told me large portion of the seats had been modified with "butt kicker" speakers by removing foam.

At the end I felt it was better to walk away since his word wasn't good enough and I didn't know how many would be actually used in a vehicle.

My bad, I thought in your message you had said you put a deposit down.

And now that I know that foam was removed from many of them, I feel better about not going through with it.

Man, that really sucks, but at least you didn't loose much.

I always push to have people take a deposit so they don't back out of a deal. That way they are bound to their word. Sounds selfish, but it seems someone's word isn't good enough these days. Money talks I suppose.
