Mine is shot and bought a new drier/receiver, but need a working compressor.

Let me know if you got one in good condition.

Look up a guy named Jay Stratton. He rebuilds compressors. Even if you find a good used compressor, I would not consider a 30 year old electro mechanical pump to be "good" after all those decades and miles. It would be considered imminent failure in my opinion. Get yourself a rebuilt compressor and you will have greatly more performance vs a used compressor. It aint cheap but that is the life of a BMW owner.

What is cheap though is a sanden sd5ho9 modern one that i put on my m20. I made my own bracket but there is someone selling them in the USA i think.

Yeah, I don’t know anyone that rebuilds and all the aftermarket ones that fit my E30 are sold out so I’m trying here out of sheer luck.

Is this guy on the forums or just a guy that rebuilds compressors?

Try Mike at Discount A/C, he just rebuilt my ETA A/C. He's super knowledgable, fast, fair prices and should be able to help you out.
