because my friend who's not on the interwebz as much as me has an m10 and wants to upgrade his rear end...not by just throwing a medium case in and calling it a day! small case only

But the medium and small case are interchangable and the medium case is stronger. I dont see the logic here.

Weight. typ168 is a good bit lighter; an M10 318 doesn't need the strength or weight penalty the typ188 adds.
