1984/1985 318i MAP Sensor Wanted (believe many E30 MAP sensors are same)

My MAP sensor cover plate is missing, so putting a feeler for a MAP sensor for my 1984 318i, hoping someone has one for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance!

I dont think MAP sensors were ever used on the M10 motor. I think you mean AFM? If so, they are extremely rare. We can rebuild them and unfortunately, I do not have any in stock ready to ship right now. I may have one or two cores but they are not done yet.

Thank you for your reply and being the amateur I am, may have it wrong. I circled the part in the photo below and had searched on the internet and see several of what appears to be similar. If this is not a MAP, might you know what it is? Thanks in advance.

funny enough it IS listed in some places online as a MAP sensor but it's a barometric pressure sensor. I took mine off of my m10 and it ran fine. I've read other accounts that their cars won't run at all without it. Verdict is out on whether it's necessary or not.

Leave it plugged in if working. If you are around sea level you can run without it though.
