I just went through this same search- 1394321 is the US 318i/iS coding plug. I ended up finding one on eBay for $45, but I had folks trying to charge up to $200 for one (yes, just the coding plug) when I had a WTB up, which is just insane.
*supposedly* the readily available/cheap euro M40 318 coding plug (1385364) works but I never heard for sure, and another 316 coding plug (1377361) that was also claimed to work.
There is also a different M42 coding plug to keep an eye out for which is 1394110 that pops up from time to time.
Also, if you’re looking for the 13 button OBC coding plug for an m42 318, the p/n is 1 394 111. It is NLA and insanely difficult to find.
