Sebastian is perfect for guys who have track cars and similar projects.
If you have bbs's and a s50 swap you should probably hit me up because at that point we all know your serious about your e30 and minor imperfections may not sit well with you.
Also please stop asking about bumpers and non e30's. Let me explain
A bumper takes about 50$ worth of paint just to paint, and about 45$ in clear coat. That's not including sandpaper, time or effort.
That's just for a e30.
Incase anyone is wondering it Costs 500$ in supplies alone to paint a e30. Not including jambs or a colorchange. He is basically doing this for free so please be understanding.Comment

I'm the owner of the blue four door, Sebastian's first! I am really happy with the results!
From the Norcale30 thread:
Snapped a few more of my car today in almost daylight. It will be another two weeks before I start wetsanding and then reassemble the car, will most definitely post some final pics when its there!

Sebastian offered to paint my taillights all red while he had the car, they turned out great!

Here's the spot where a dent was repaired, it was on the body line.

Close up of dent repair and a run:

I had a hard time capturing the paintjob in any detail. I guess thats a good thing because the paint already photographs nicely!
My e30 and I were ideal candidates for this paintjob. I am the type of person who would rather get my hands dirty than throw money at my car by paying others to do things I'm capable of. (read: I'm poor) If wetsanding scares you, or you just don't want to put the time in, but want a perfect paintjob, this might not be for you. If you like working on your own stuff and would look forward to the process, have a track car, or just plain don't mind a few imperfections, then this could work out well for you too.
I would do this again, and plan to with my other E30!-Doug

Ok heres car #2
I have been reallly busy so no time for pics
Before:

sun damage:

prep:

Base coat:

Also did red tails and included IS lip:

Cleared:

After:

If you look closely at the hood you can see some contamination but no runs!
This car required ALOT of prep due to a VERY poor quality respray before. Others said they wouldnt paint it for less that $1500 but I think it came ok pretty good!Last edited by bastianshaw; 03-13-2012, 12:44 AM.Comment

Got the car back today and it looks great - to the points already made, this isn't a concours finish, but this isn't a concours car and for the price paid, its much better value for money than what I could have gotten anywhere else. On top of that, Seb is a great guy and incredibly forthright and honest.
I'll need to do a little finishing but nothing I think a cutting compound or a little wet sanding in spots couldn't finish off. I'll be sure to post pics in a couple weeks when I can get around to getting the cosmetic portion done.Comment
