I just got hit today by an old lady at Costco today, we traded insurance info and everything. She said she'll fix everything, and knows a shop here in San Bruno. Should I claim it through insurance? Or find my own that'll do quality work?

I will be getting my Peugeot back from the shop tomorrow.
I need to take care of some surface rust, a few small dents and get a complete paint job in the bay area.

      Anyone??

I'll fix it in trade for your wheels:)
But in all seriousness, take it to a shop you trust and get it repaired were you want.

Which paint best matches schwarz for bmws, I do have my own guns at home I'd like to do it myself. Also is there any products that work best for popping out small dings or should i just take it to a shop.

Stick to big brands, if you want something cheap and works well use dupont a nason line o paints, they're affordable and look good, as far as DIY dent repair I wouldn't recommend it, take it to a pro, you will be happier

Thanks for the advice I'll look into find some paint and practicing before I redo my valance. I've painted quite a bit of fences but never anything close to automotive quality.

oliver, First thanks for the great resource!!!

I've got two small rust areas. One has 4 spots about the size of a pencil eraser that have pushed through the paint and the other is a round spot about the size of a Susan B Anthony coin.

My plan is to cut out the bad metal and tack in a patch.

Is this the proper method? If so, What gauge and type of metal do you recommend I use?

putting down a base isnt very difficult, properly applying the clear is what make a ok paint job look great.

practise on scrap not on your car, buy a cheap hood and practise on that until your happy with your work

Unfortunately its bubbled up on both sides with a few needle sized holes.

Rear valence driver side, about half way down on the round edge is the coin sized area.

The small bubbles and pin holes are below the passenger tail light on the tiny part of the panel.

Here is a pic. Although its not terrible, the rust was very understated/misrepresented by the PO.
