Hi guys. I’m in a pickle. I bought a new set of Alpina staggered wheels direct from Alpina Last year but I have found tire selection to be nearly impossible with the staggered fitment. The only tires available in the correct sizes (205/50/16 & 225/45/15) are track tires or garbage economy tires. So here is my solution. Going to purchase another set of staggered wheels so that I will have 2 sets of wheels on hand, one set 16x7 and another of 16x8. Looking to see if I can line up a buyer of most likely the 16x7 set so that I won’t be saddled with a whole other set laying around the garage. It’s not cheap for these after all the import duty and shipping is paid, so is roughly gonna be around $4k for the set. Let me know if you are interested in getting your hands on a new factory produced Alpina wheel set.

I'm not interested in buying a set of wheels, but curious about what you're suggesting.
So you can't find a single good tire in both sizes, but you can get a different good tire for each size? Or only the 16x8 has a good selection and there isn't anything for 16x7, and you want to offload the bad size?sigpic

I can find a good tire in each size but not one in both. I’ve considered over sizing but not my ideal. Before I commit to making something work instead of the ideal setup, just trying to see if someone would want to “partner “ up and take one set of square and I keep the other. I really am not partial to one size or another at this point. I wanted staggered like the original Apina but tires are hard to come by.Comment

Sorry yeah I didn’t mention specs. These are 4x100 bolt pattern, and 16x7 & 16x8 wheel size. Trying to find offsets as listed by Alpina but here is the link to the site in the interim.

I will also have to find my final receipt but I think that my total all in cost for the wheelset was close to $4k after shipping and import duties, just an FYI. I would not be adding anything extra to the cost, would just be the cost to cover the wheels to get in hand. Ideally someone located in SoCal so we don’t need to deal with shipping twice.Comment

where are you located and I don't understand issue you are experiencing? there are good tires available for this set. Maybe some are in europe and not approved for sale in the US but for the price of whatever you want to do, you can ship any tires around the world twice fro anywhere on the planetComment

I am in California, USA. Based in TireRack.com and my local tire shops, basically I have only track tires available here. I looked @ Vredesteins website and they don’t have anything available in the spec sizes for staggered setup which is the 205/50 & 225/45/16.

those are perfect! What is very strange is that they never popped up when I do a search on the sites for my tire size, but when you click on that tire and search all available sizes they show up. So yes, I will just buy those and call it good! Thank you so much!
I have the same rims so I know it's not easy but doable.

I was hoarding 16x8's in my attic, willing to sell two to help you. Not perfect shape but I don't see myself needing all of them now.
I'll get pics if interested.'87 325ic, powered by S50.Comment

sorry I haven’t checked R3V in a while and just seeing this…I might be open to that but would need to see pics. The issue would be then refinishing them so they perfectly match the new set which might be tough and not cheap. If I had a new set and then split them as a whole set of 7” and one set of 8” that would be my preference but beggars can’t be choosers.
