what offset do they end up being? what offset does the vw usually take?

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

The wheels up for trade/sale are cleary the round hole style and NOT the d-windows .

As far as the offset , they are 8" wide with a 5" backspace , figure it out .

vw's run the same hub size as e30's, however, These steelies probably arent hubcentric.

correct, same hub size. but hubcentric only matters when youre balancing them. these are lugcentric which means they have to be balanced buy something bolted through the lug holes instead of just through the center.

also, i believe 5" backspacing should be for fwd... straight off the website

                          The EFFECTS of BACKSPACE:
A smaller backspace such as 2" (negative offset) will make the track wider.
A larger backspace such as 6" (positive offset) will make the track narrower.
Please note that getting the correct track width for the cars design is usually more important than the positive or negative effects of changing backspace.
