Resurfacing wont make a big enough change to need an adjustable cam gear

I have a 2.7i. With a 272 IE reground. This adj cam gear will definately help me out right? My car doesn't idle too well, could this be exactly what i need to fine tune the timing to get my idle better?

yes, if you advance the timing it should help your idle a bit at the expense of top end.

            with your guys' lil arguement about speed...ive taken my 2.7i 272 cam'd with a 3.73 lsd to 120 at 5100 rpm's.

I feel like i lose ALL power after 120. like...i've crept up to 128ish and wasnt even close to 6k iirc. I don't think I can even red line it in 5th.

I dont need to be going this fast...so the top end i dont think will bother me...will my car run faster/smoother in lower speeds?

late cars are top speed limited at 120mph, I never figured out how to disable that either..

Mines a hybrid. Ive gone faster than 120. Atleast on my speedometer. Dunno if its actually correct.

And wouldn't the Dinan Chip offset that?

the bavauto chip I had didn't affect it.

it wasn't just a weak motor either, with the 2.8 stroker it was still limited to the same top speed as the stock motor.

but that's way off topic, back to discussing the cam gear. Glad you guys are taking care of it. It's not a huge deal if you know the markings are wrong. If you're playing with it on a dyno all that matters is the shape of the curve you end up with. Finding the cam CL should be the same, too.

                        nice

I did end up getting my car on the dyno, and although I didn't try advancing the cam, by retarding it I gained a solid amount of torque.

Glad to hear your enthusiasm. We will put you on our list to notify when the gears are back in stock.

These work great for stroker and non stroker motors though just so you know.

And if you buy one, you can move it with you to ANY m20 motor. This is compatible with Eta and I heads.

                                Just thought I'd mention that.
