i think nigel is going to try to run custom konis instead of bilsteins. but that's just what i remember from our last conversation. i've always been partial to bilsteins just because of their availability; i haven't had much experience with konis.

Koni want $165 per strut plus part to revalve. I'm considering driving down to bilstein on Tuesday to drop off my inserts.

I have offered any spring from the hypercoil catalog as an option. So if you want to run a 7" front spring and weld a new perch you can get what ever rate you want in 50lb increments.

Just to confirm, you are offering the different rates following the group buy. For us group buyers we are all getting the same rate. 450f/650r..

hey guys I made a DIY article on how to install nigels coilovers.

          thank you

How to install coilovers on your e30 Notes Main focus on the front passenger side and touched based on the rear. The front driver side is identical except for the fact that the brake wear indicator sensor wiring is only on the front driver side and right rear passenger side, its just a wiring harness you need to unplug

Thanks for the write up. The only thing I would have changed was the addition of oil to the strut tubes. You actually are not supposed to add it with bilstein sports or hd struts because they are inverted. So you basically end up with a saugy bumpstop that crumbles apart.

I probably overcranked the chuck on the lathe when I cut the sleeve to length. I have done it once or twice as the chuck is quite old and lossens up fairly easily and heavily mars the piece. I have found that a piece of wood placed on top and a mallet got the sleeves on with very little effort. It also gave the benefit of 0 slip when adjusting the height.

^ This man speaks the truth. All that oil will do is deteriorate the bump stop on Bilstein's. I have seen it happen first hand. I also moved the rear top spring pad with the nipple down to the bottom using the nipple to keep the adjuster in place. I've driven the M3 around town and I'm pretty happy with it. You will need the camber plates in front to lower it more. This is important if you don't want to cut the bottom spring perches off and still go "low"

So people are getting these already? Or only some people in the west coast?

There are about 10 prototype kits floating around the westcoast. I've received some great feed back on how to better improve them which is being implemented in the new design.
