i forget the spring heights, but the rears are eibach 650lbs coils with no adjusters, fronts are proto GE 300lbs. i'm going to upgrade to the group buy rates though, just to make everything nice and pretty. i have the GE aluminum hats and his camber plates, cut perches. the camber plates allowed me to go considerably lower vs stock ones.
i have run just about every rate (including 1250lbs) talked about in this thread, and i think that the 450/650 is a great final choice.
I am running 450f/650r with unshortened housings and regular bilstein sports. I feel as though I can upgrade my front strut inserts to better compensate for the spring rates I am running. I like travel. I like it enough that I want more, and not less.
same here...i am temporarily on bilstein tourings in the front and they just can't cope at all. bilstein will shorten struts for $75/ea and shocks for $60/ea i believe.
Now i just need some donor bilstein sports strut inserts to start the process of shortening/revalving. I want smoother rebound. I feel like the spring is doing most of the work.

exactly. i hate bouncing twice on freeway bumps. last time i was down in poway, bilstein told me $75 to shorten, $75 to revalve....so we're talking $150 a front corner and $120 a rear.

You can use 325ix inserts from what I understand. They are apparently ~3.5" shorter then normal 325 inserts, but still maintain the correct OD for 51mm housings. Then you can shorten the housing, and go lower without cranking the adjusters the whole way down. More travel, off the shelf inserts, more low.
I believe you can also open up the normal 325 Bilstein sports and cut the bump stop in half, for an extra inch or so of travel.

So now that brings us into custom shortened/revalved koni front strut inserts territory. I hear from guys that they prefer bilsteins over koni's when done right. Are you swayed in the direction of bilsteins because of this or is there other specs/facts that are pulling you towards bilsteins compared to koni's?

Nigel actually told me this too. My only concern with moving to ix front strut inserts would be the valving. 450lbs might be a tad stiff for the inserts to properly do their job, thus actually hurting the feel or what good suspension should feel like.
