I am very interested in a Aluminum Clear Anodized knob with the shift pattern. As soon as I see a pic, I will let you know for sure.

whats the weight difference between the Aluminum and the Stainless Steel?

I wanna see pics first, but I will most likely pick up the stainless steel one off you. Do you have plans of making pedals, door sills etc? If you do, then im going to wait till everything is in the works.

If you can make a nice setup plain pedals with black rubber strips, and nice looking door sills, i'd defenetyely be interested.

The Al. ones weigh about a pound, the stainless ones are somewhere around TWICE that-
in other words, don't buy a stainless one. The weight is insane. The Al. one is heavier than almost any other shifter I've ever seen. Buy that one instead, please.

Here is the unanodized one, which I brushed before cutting the shift pattern. This one is a blem, and I will sell it for $20. It has a little 1/8" nick on the side that faces the dash, and the finish is not prefectly consistent. I will scotchbrite it a little more before shipping. Anyone? Broke folks first please!

EDIT: blem knob not for sale until further notice- it is not up to spec.

                  They are:
too heavy to throw around quickly
                  hard to make
                  slow to make
                  colder than aluminum in winter.
here come the pics.... this is only the brushed knob, it was my practice part. The rest will be a little shinier, and not have swirlies in them.

This is the shinier finish of the non-brushed knobs:

More pics will be up soon, with the black anodized finish. Give me 3-4 workdays for that.

that should give us a good idea of the shift knob weights.

Well if chrisd's aluminum shift knob weighs 16oz, thats pretty good. 32oz's for stainless steel one might be a little extreme.

I still wanna look at the rest of your finished products, but I have a question. Is it possible get a groove so that we can slap on the oem shift pattern stickers?
                      like this:

looks good, i didnt think it was such a "ball" on top from the other pics, but it looks good none the less, did you think abou my offer?

Is there any way to make a small flat part on top and cut the pattern (perhaps a bit larger) into that?

                          They're lookin' great.

That would be extremely easy, in fact, easier that what I am doing now. I want the pattern a little bigger too, but I am limited by the curvature of the knob. The radius changes close to where I placed the pattern, and I can't make it much bigger without cutting that flat on top.
So: would you ALL like the pattern cut into a flat on top? I can do individual ones differently, but then you have to wait for the next anodizing batch.
The flat would be about 1/4" bigger than the current shift pattern.
Also, the current pattern is a bit shallow for what I would prefer. I will make it just a hair deeper on the rest of the parts.

not sure what you mean, would the whole knob be taller to add flat space? or just flatten out the top of the existing design, I agree about the pattern, did you think about my offer?

I'd like it to have a flat spot on the top with a larger and deeper pattern.
